On the 19th of Ramadan, 40 AH, while in prostration during the Fajr prayer at the Mosque of Kufa, Imam Ali was struck by the poisoned sword of Ibn Muljam. He passed from this world two days later, on the 21st of Ramadan - a date observed by millions as a night of mourning, reflection, and devotion.

In his final moments, as those around him wept, Imam Ali spoke words that have echoed through centuries: فُزْتُ وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ -"By the Lord of the Kaaba, I have succeeded." The sword graphic above the calligraphy on the back is Dhul Fiqar -the legendary two-pointed blade gifted to Imam Ali by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
